Tripp Films is a growing film production company in Houston, TX, that works with small businesses to create branded video content. The Video Editor & Assistant Shooter will assist in the majority of editing projects, from Branded Films and Product Films, to Educational and Tutorial Films. The position is part-time (30 hours a week) with the potential to expand to a full time position. This is a great opportunity for a trained and motivated entry level candidate who is looking to get started with hands-on experience and grow with the company. 

responsibilities:

Client Projects:

  • Review, sort and subclip footage

  • Manage video assets and keep projects organized

  • Create rough draft and final sequences with recorded footage, audio, music and graphic assets

  • Execute changes and client feedback

  • Manage an editing workflow to keep projects consistent

  • Design branded thumbnails for final videos

  • Create video transcripts

  • Upload final videos to video platforms and website

  • Stay up to date with current editing techniques and technologies

Internal Projects:

  • Edit creative and fun teasers and other Tripp Films branded social media videos

Shoot Assistant:

  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs

  • Help with set up/tear down at shoots

  • Assist as needed with monitoring script/shot list, gathering releases, monitoring second camera, snapping behind the scenes photos and anything else needed

  • Potential to become a Second Shooter if desired

Qualifications:

  • Video editing experience with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut or Avid

  • Knowledge of video for web and social media

  • Experience in with Adobe Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition

  • Shooting experience a plus, but not required

  • Must be based in Houston. This is not a remote position.
